Promotion of almond oil from the Ferragnes variety, a predominant cultivar in young almond plantations in eastern Morocco

Almond oil (AO) has both food and non-food uses, but the most profitable niche market is its applications for cosmetic (Skincare, Body oil, Hair Soap). In last decade, two almond varieties Ferragnes Ferraduel , with dominance of became to be crucial due their suitability agro-ecological conditions some regions production in Morocco. This study focuses on characterization AO Ferragnes, which main cultivar among foreign introduced eastern Chemical parameters’ fatty acid (FA) composition, minor compounds mainly tocopherols phenols were analyzed, oxidative stability (OSI) related shelf life was determined. Results show low acidity (0.38%) peroxide value (1.92 meq/kg). FA profile shows predominance unsaturated principally oleic (C18:1; 68.9 %) linoleic (C18:2; 21.88%). Tocopherol (Vitamin E) phenol contents are, respectively, 456.43 mg/kg 138 mg/kg. addition, richness natural antioxidants, this exhibits high (OSI = 24.09 h); thus, these results prove quality that can recommended as edible notably are more profitable.
